BELIEVE - Building up the church
This week we continue our series entitled, "BELIEVE". Sunday we will focus on "Building up the church". At New Life our mission is "Enriching our community, one life at a time." One of the primary ways we impact our community and enlarge the kingdom of God is by building up the church.
The good news is that the church was Jesus' idea, not ours (Matthew 16:18). He gave his church a mission and promised victory through the Holy Spirit. All we have to do is jump in, participate, and partner with God to build. Sunday we will take a look at the church as the "body of Christ" and learn what we each can do to build up New Life.
Take a look at the many benefits of participating in church. They include: reduced blood pressure among men, answers to prayers, happier marriages, better personal health, better teenage behavior, and less alcohol abuse among college students and men. D.B Larson and B.R. Johnson have compiled a list of 52 benefits of church participation (referencing scientific studies). So, there are many benefits to church participation. What's your favorite? I would love to hear from you. See you Sunday. Pastor Tom
